Security of Calculators
Graphing calculators are highly valued items among young people, for the games that are available if for no other reason. They are frequently stolen for resale. All of this makes it essential that all calculators be marked in an unchangeable fashion before they are exposed. Use of a small hand grinder with an appropriate bit is recommended. If they are school property, put the school's initials in large letters and in conspicuous places on the front, back, and keyboard of the calculator. Encouraged students to do likewise with their own personal calculators. Offer to do it for them. It is also a good idea to number the calculators, and to have a storage box made with numbered slots so that missing calculators can be detected at a glance.
