Review: Fractions, Decimals, Negatives, Distributed multiplication, Powers
FracMlt1 This program provides a review of multiplication and division of fractions. There are no negative numbers in this exercise. It is too easy for most standard or honors Algebra 1 students. This program requires that answers be exact: eleven divided by three must be input as 3+2/3, not 3.67
FracMix1 This program provides a mixed review of all arithmetic operations with fractions. Though it is possible for an answer to be negative, there are no negative operands. Here again, the program requires exact answers (3+2/3, not 3.67).
Negative This program provides a review of all arithmetic operations with negative numbers. The program requires that no operators be used in the answers. Therefore, common fractions cannot be used. Use decimal approximations rounded to two decimal places. The program supplies the correct answer when the student's answer is wrong.
FracMlt2 This program provides a review of multiplication and division of fractions with negatives. The program requires that answers be exact (3+2/3, not 3.67).
FracMix2 This program provides a mixed review of all arithmetic operations with both fractions and negative numbers. The program would probably suffice for the review of fractions and negatives for a good algebra class.
CombTrm1 Combine like terms using all four arithmetic operations.
Powers Arithmetic operations involving higher powers of the variable. Use ^ symbol to indicate "raised to the power of". In those cases in which the expression cannot be simplified, simply install it as given. Since no operators are allowed, decimal fractions must replace common fractions.
CombTrm2 Combine like terms with powers of the variable. If the expression cannot be simplified, simply install it as given.
